# Install Orbital

> How to download and install Orbital on your machine

Orbital is a powerful AI coding IDE built from the ground up to be the ultimate Cursor and Windsurf alternative.

<Warning>
  **Apple Silicon Only:** Currently, Orbital is available exclusively for macOS on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4). Support for Windows is coming soon.

## Installation Steps

    Download the latest macOS (Apple Silicon) installer from our website.

  <Step title="Install the Application">
    Once the `.dmg` file has finished downloading, open it and drag the **Orbital** app into your `Applications` folder.

  <Step title="Launch Orbital">
    Open Orbital from your `Applications` folder or via Spotlight.

    *Note: On your first launch, macOS might prompt you to confirm opening the app since it was downloaded from the internet. Click "Open" to proceed.*

  <Step title="Sign In">
    Upon launching Orbital, sign in with your MatterAI account to authenticate and start using the autonomous AI capabilities.
